Achieving the Dream – Annual D.R.E.A.M. Meeting on Student Success
In February 2012 Marilyn McCarthy and Janice Rogers presented the work of the First Year Experience Strategy Team together with Sterling Giles from Roxbury Community College at the annual Achieving the Dream conference. A variety of issues to consider when designing and implementing a FYE course were presented from the standpoint of an early adopter (RCC) and a recent adopter (NECC).

Achieving the Dream Together: How Four Massachusetts Community Colleges are Working to Improve Student Success.
In June 2007, for Massachusetts Community Colleges – Bunker Hill, Northern Essex, Roxbury and Springfield Technical – were chosen to join 80 other colleges in 15 states as part of Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national data-driven initiative designed to further community college student success. In this presentation, Academic and Student Affairs leaders from these four colleges describe their experiences gathering data and establishing priorities, goals and strategies for improving student success.

Achieving the Dream Together:

In June 2007, four Massachusetts community colleges-Bunker Hill, Northern Essex, Roxbury, and Springfield Technical-were chosen to join 80 other colleges in 15 states as part of Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national data-driven initiative designed to further community college student success.
Academic and student affairs leaders from these four colleges will describe their experiences gathering data and establishing priorities, goals, and strategies, with special emphasis on strategies for successful transitions from high school to college and on addressing the needs of students in precollege, developmental courses.

Academic and Student Affairs representatives from the four participating Achieving the Dream community colleges presented a report on their progress to the Massachusetts Community Colleges Presidents Council at their June 2008 Summer Retreat.
