The (Mis/Dis)Information Dilemma: Engaging Students in a Polarized Information Landscape
Current events have placed tech giants, and concomitantly, information itself in the spotlight. Recent data also indicates roughly 2/3 of Americans get their news from social media and ~90% never venture beyond a first page of Google results, so it has become urgent that educators prepare students to actively engage with the difference between bias, propaganda, and facts.
Join librarian Jenny Fielding as for a discussion on Google, Facebook, bots, freedom of speech, and the new information citizenry.
