National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD)

Each year approximately four (4) faculty and staff (full-time and part-time) are nominated to receive NISOD Excellence Awards.

Faculty and staff are provided the opportunity to attend the national Conference where they are awarded a Certificate of Excellence as well as a medallion for their effort and dedication to their profession. Faculty are supported by the Center for Professional Development and Office of Academic and Student Affairs to attend the NISOD conference.

NISOD Description

NISOD (The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) hosted its first ceremony in 1989, in connection with a University of Texas national study of teaching excellence in open-door settings.

The annual conference offers a wide range of workshops and presentations, which have always received the highest praises from Northern Essex Community College participants. An important part of the conference includes a celebration and honoring of the faculty and staff who have been selected and sent to the conference from colleges all over the country.

You can find more information at the NISOD website.
